Clean Air
May 7, 2009

The next series of jewellery is based on the element AIR.
The lungs of the human body and of the planet. Something we very easily take for granted, too. In a symbolic gesture of thanks, this series is dedicated to knowledge and wisdom that seeks to preserve and protect the quality of AIR, a precious life force.

Sacred Springs
April 13, 2008
Before I set a stone in silver, it is dipped in water from one of the many sacred wells in Ireland.
Here it is custom to visit a ‘holy well’ to connect with the healing forces of nature. Some wells have specific cures for parts of the body and most all are dedicated to saints, holy women and men.
I visit them because they are peaceful places where time seems to stand still. I am aware that the earth has provided me with precious stones to work with, and that they are not an unlimited supply. When I cleanse a stone, I intend to bring the sacred into my jewellery so that the people who wear it will benefit from the gem’s healing essence.
Programming a crystal
January 28, 2008
When we program a crystal for a healing purpose, it is our intention that guides us into action. The crystal is a reflector. We recognize in it our own ability to restore and harmonize. For example, a quartz crystal. (When choosing a stone, trust your first instinct.)
Quartz is akin to a flawless clarity. Holding a quartz crystal, intend to recognize this quality within levels of your self. Now you are beginning to understand how to program a crystal for personal healing.

Cleansing a crystal
December 18, 2007
When cleansing a crystal we are working on a subtle, energetic level. The crystal responds to our intention. For instance, we might put a crystal through running water in a spring or stream with the intention of returning the stone to its original essence. Or, we might place the crystal in the open full moon/sunlight to reflect back qualities of clear consciousness. The activity of cleansing is successful when we fulfill our desire through intention!
Most stones are able to be cleansed through moving water or moon/sunlight, but check first to be sure that the colors won’t fade.
For instance, opal looses its brightness in water, and turquoise looses its color with too much sun.
Keeping it
December 12, 2007
When you have your special piece of gemstone jewellery, keep it in it’s pouch or somewhere that it can safely BE when you aren’t wearing it.
This keeps it from getting lost or damaged.
On a subtle level, it ensures that your gems retain their essence as much as possible.
I suggest wearing your jewellery when you know you won’t have to take it off for some reason.
